Why is there no heat coming out of my gas furnace?
Check the propane level in your tanks. The furnace blower may be able to start, but there will be no heat coming out because there is no gas to ignite the burner. A tank with very little gas or an issue in the gas line can lead to low gas pressure. This will result in no heat from the furnace or lack of a constant pilot light.
Why is my pilot light not working on my furnace?
Pilot light problems are sometimes related to failed safety sensors or airflow issues which causes the furnace blower will come on but not to ignite. The two place to check first are the thermocouple and the sail switch. A sail switch is essentially an on/off switch, that detects if there’s not enough airflow.
What happens if your furnace blower is not working?
If it’s not your blower that’s broken, it could also be your transformer, your run capacitor or your control board. When one of these parts is not working properly, it can prevent your furnace from starting up and producing heat for your home.
What happens if there is no propane in the furnace?
A furnace can operate using the 12-volt batteries, but will not be able to turn on if the battery power is insufficient. Check the propane level in your tanks. The furnace blower may be able to start, but there will be no heat coming out because there is no gas to ignite the burner.
What would cause a furnace not to light?
A number of reasons can cause the wall furnace to not light, including a damaged thermocouple, a clogged pilot orifice and a disconnected gas supply.
What to do when your furnace does not ignite?
If your furnace is equipped with an electronic igniter, you cannot light the furnace manually. However, you may be able to get the furnace working by turning off the igniter and resetting it. Find the paperwork for your particular furnace to locate the reset button or switch.
Why is my furnace not starting?
Your furnace will not turn on if your air filter is clogged. If it is clogged, it has not been replaced as frequently as it should have! This can cause your furnace to turn off as a safety feature (to prevent overheating). Your next step should be to check your air filter.
Why is your furnace not working?
Dirty air filters are often the culprit behind an inefficiently performing furnace. That’s because air filters trap dust, dirt and debris like hair, which over time can restrict or block vital air flow, overheating the heat exchanger and preventing your furnace from working as it should.
