Meaning of Cross-linking & Cross-linking Definition

Cross-linking

The process of establishing a link between two websites. This allows users to link to websites whose content is similar to the websites they have already visited and which may be of more interest to them.

Add links from one company to different domains.

Crosslinks link two pages on a website to increase the relevance of both pages. For example, if you have a maintenance page that's about the shoes you sell, you could link that page to a blog that's about all kinds of women's shoes. As such, networking is the perfect way to show Google your authority on a topic, as crawling a website on your page will constantly direct you to other relevant content related to that page. What better way to show power? If you can prove your authority through effective cross-linking, prepare for SERP success. A good link consists of two things: the webpage/content being linked to and the anchor text. Both must be highly relevant to you to gain the authority that will make this page rank higher. You cannot simply link to a page that is not related to the content you are linking from. Also, the anchor text must be relevant to the website being linked to. If you do it right, you can easily see how dozens of crosslinks help increase your link value and overall domain authority.

A reciprocal link between two different websites or two separate websites on the same website. This tells search engines that related content is related in some way.

Linking between domains owned by the same company or person.

This shouldn't be a problem if the sites are thematically related and there aren't many links to them.

Precise alignment of anchor text and links throughout the site should be avoided to reduce the risk of fines.
