the 460 is a solid and reliable engine, even when making better than 1.5hp per cubic inch. they do have some issues, fuel economy(like that matters if you plan on building a 460) is one of them.

The intake side of the head provides a cross-sectional oval port which helped give the engine the high torque ratings that it was known for.

Bump ignition timing to 12 to 13 initial from the factory 10 btdc. addition of an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to increase fuel to air ratio at WOT which with the factor fuel tables is in the 13 to 14 to 1 range.
