Contactless Card

The Near Field Communication (NFC) smart card is based on radio frequency identification (RFID) technologies that use radio frequency to transmit data and do not require physical contact to be read by readers or terminals. Contactless cards are held against the reader to record transactions or identify the user. The systems are passive when the readers generate a frequency, or active when the card activates the reader. One example is Sony's FeliCa smart card technology (which is integrated into mobile phones in Japan for mobile banking and business).
